There's a whole load of polarisations here - concrete cases cast out and upheld through strong attitudes and retentive words.  So people say "I want to get married and have children" or "I want to enjoy sex but not have children" or "I'd like to have this child but I can't afford it" - the children themselves, if they are allowed to come along, will seize the initiative themselves and create something more harmonious and profitable than you could ever have planned for.  After all, the basic law is that people /will/ have sex and it leads to pregnancies and children, but until you've actually done this you can't go through to the next phase, discover the world through the eyes of your children, and perhaps even begin to understand what led you there in the first place.
