As a follower of Sergeant Pluck's 'atomic theory' (anyone read The Third Policeman? - see here for related thread ), I believe my one-and-only to be now part bike/part me and I am part me/part bike. For example, I'm getting slowly more steely, and the Brevet is gradually developing a taste for Dickens, Bartok violin duets, high moorland, The Smiths, and Brazilian Fuji apples. My arse is getting as leathery as the Brooks He has shown signs of trying to find out Gainsborough Trinity's football results. When apart we have difficulty balancing - he still needs a wall or gate, I fall over more often than I used to - but together, it's no problem (usually). I don't know yet if the trend is towards a total atomic switch, or to a 50/50 balance. Currently I'm at 80/20.
