Modern tellies are rubbish. When they used to break down all you had to do was thump the top of them and they'd start working again. Why don't they still make them like that?When I were a lad, whoever had the comfy chair was the perfect distance away to use the telly stick - the bottom two pieces of an old greenhart fishing rod - to change channels. It had the huge rubber butt left on it to whack the top of the telly when the vertical hold went. Try doing that with your modern flat screen, high definition rubbish and see what happens.
