Why not enjoy some of your sick time quota ;D

I suspect that ChrisO's manager is from the school that does not recognise sick time...

No I'm afraid that wouldn't work because sickness is also a form of enjoyment.

What you have to grasp here is that joy in Chez ChrisO is a zero-sum game.

Thus the greater the lack of enjoyment for the management e.g. by having to tend to the sick, care for children, attend lessons etc the more ChrisO is deemed to be enjoying himself, for example by being at work.

Conversely the greater ChrisO's enjoyment (or potential enjoyment, which is just as good as real enjoyment), the more the management is deemed to be NOT enjoying herself, for example by reading the papers.

It has taken 13 years to reach this level of understanding.
