Me too: Newbie cyclist; Newbie acf; Newbie auk; Newbie SR; PBP'07 ex-virgin. In fact newbie all over except me legs, teeth and haircut (and I suppose a few other fiddly bits as well :-|)

What inspired me through the last 12 months fun and games was the thought that early-onset Parkinson's Disease means that my brain will increasingly lose its capacity to be beastly to my body.

As for the tales of woe, we "...make the weather and then we stand outside and say **** it's raining!" (Cold Mountain) but they do make good reading:-).

In our rocking chairs (wearing odd socks and smelling of stale pee - I'm practising already ;-)) we need to be able to say "I gave it all a b****y good whirl when (and as often as) I could!"

Do EVERYTHING now (even if, like me, you can now only do it slowly with a rear cluster composed of turned-down soup plates.)

Sieze the day!
