Living in new build flats

I was disturbed nightly by a tap tapping, rythmic, repetitive.
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping on the lower floor.
`'Tis some student,' I muttered, `tapping on the lower floor -
Only this, and nothing more.'

[...]
Eventually I was on the ground floor. It was clear which of the two rooms was the problem one, so I knocked on it.
`Sir,' said I, `or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore;
But the fact is I was napping, and so annoying is your rapping.
Do you realise that your drumming can be heard on all six floors?
Half the residents can hear you' - here he opened wide the door; -
Drumsticks there, and nothing more.
