The way to dusty death

Expecting family from overseas, for the first time in yonks, I've been tidying and cleaning my home :o.
Which is a bummer 'cos I have to abort my experiment to test Quentin Crisp's assertion that after the first four years the dust doesn't get noticably thicker. This means the earliest I'll have the data is 2009!
And my acoustics have changed. Sound fizzes and jangles and pops like a wrecking crew in a trendy Scandinavian ice-hotel. Previously it crept sodden and exhausted to expire gently in an absorbent blanket of dust: not unlike the screams of a lunatic in a padded cell..
