I wear glasses for everything except swimming. They are the first thing I reach for in the morning, and the last thing I put down before falling asleep. In a swimming pool I just smile vaguely at the coloured fuzzy shapes which seem to move, and try to avoid hitting the coloured shapes which don't. But sometimes the end of the pool comes upon me very suddenly, when I had thought it was a good 5 feet away.
