Last night I ate deep-fried grasshoppers washed down with shochu... the former were actually better. The strange thing is that many of the Japanese people present wouldn't eat them, and this after one of the mandatory 'what Japanese food do foreigners not like' conversations... both the grasshoppers and the irony were crunchy.
