Title: Clipless in Cleattle
Post by: librarian on January 17, 2007
Cleattle: the rape and mutilation of your trusty cycling shoes for the dubious purpose of fixing you permanently to the bicycle. (From cleat and fettle, obviously.)

Or, possibly, the sort of tap-dance noise you make with new metal bits recessed into rather worn soles.

Anyway, I am now the proud owner of a bike I can't get off. I'm not sure I really understand the advantages---I hope that the decreased pressure on my toes will be an improvement for long rides despite the increased pressure further back on the foot---and since it takes slightly less effort to swap the pedals over than to change my footwear once I get to work I'll go back to commuting in office shoes when the weather dries out.

But you should see me bunny-hop.
