It's a personal thing of course but what's really wrong with cars is the people who buy them. Or rather those you love them too well.

To preoccupy oneself with a means of conveyance (whatever it is) is a stunted kind of enjoyment. I've succumbed in my time to polishing classic motors and buying custom bicycles but confess I'm not proud of either.

Such activities occupy a bad part of the soul. At least the fancy bikes support artizan Joe in his tube melting pass time. Cars just support huge corps.

Some drivers imagine the antipathy toward their sportscar or 4x4 to be jealousy but there's a desperation in projecting yourself into The Thomas Crown Affair as you travel. It's your soul telling you it's hungry.
