You know what all this reminds me of? That scene in An American Werewolf in London. The one where our hero, finding himself in Trafalgar Square and fearful of his impending lycanthropic transmogrification*, shouts out all sorts of idiotic stuff at a nearby copper ("Shakespeare was French" etc. etc.) in an effort to get himsel f arrested.It doesn't work.*by Jove, I enjoyed typing out that phrase!
