a small and irrelevant note on Prouve

Jean Prouve was the guy who came up with the idea of curving corrugated metal longitudinally. This made it fantastically strong. The world (allright, progressive architects) gasped in wonder.

'Zut alors, with this corrugated metal you are spoiling us M. Prouve!'

They beat a path to his door. What manner of Nobel-worthy machine had the great man invented to bend his metal. 'M. Prouve - show us how you do this wonderful thing, we beg of you!'

'Voila, mes enfants, regardez - Madame!'

Madame was a large lady feeding corrugated iron through a modified (and hand operated) washing mangle.
