Andy Singer

has always loved to paint and draw. In college, he studied painting and art history -- two entertaining but vocationally useless majors. After gradution, he spent 3-4 years wondering what the hell to do with his life and decided to try cartooning. He first began doing freelance cartoons and illustrations in 1992, for his local paper (The Daily Californian). Since then, he has published well over a thousand pages of comics, cartoons and drawings in dozens of publications in the United States, Canada and Europe. These include: The New Yorker, Discover, The Funny Times, Comic Relief, Adbusters, Crosswinds Weekly, Eugene Weekly, Amicus Journal and Z Magazine.

Andy has always loved bicycling, alternative transport and the environment. So he does a lot of cartoons about bicycles and transportation issues for groups like Car Busters, Alliance for a Paving Moratorium, Transportation Alternatives (in NYC), Oregon Cycling and many others. One of these groups, Car Busters, just published a book of his transportation graphics called 'CARtoons'. You can order a copy of it (or check out more of his work) at andysinger.com
