Yes, NACA still occupies a corner in the loft (some newcomer has scribbled NCAP on the boxes). I clicked into a thread today for the first time since getting kicked out last year. Appropriately enough, it was Ārseholes – started by someone who was angry at being censored on the main site, then went on to complain about me having my say in their little free speech zone.

Anyway, I saw that tweet and thought of winjim, so let myself fall in.

Quote
So they've deleted my post bringing incidents of misgendering to their attention and asking people to use non gendered terms if they can't bring themselves to use the correct gender, but left the actual misgendering posts intact. It's kind of incidental to the thread so I don't want to make too much of a fuss and derail it, that would be out of order.

So now I have to go through the thread and report each one individually. I also called out some racism the other week and the poster doubled down, although I cba reporting that.

Hi mods, I know you're reading this 👋. I'm aware I don't contribute much to the main forum any more (although hopefully I'll be getting back into cycling this year), but I will always call out misgendering and transphobia when I see it. Expect some reports to come in.

S'pose it was inevitable that I wouldn't stop with Ārseholes.

I fundamentally disagree with his weaponising of The Gender Debate, and I've got no way of telling whether he actually hold the views he espouses, but I find his posts more entertaining and thought provoking than a good deal of the current forum content.

It's difficult to dislike someone who compliments you. Goddamn human nature. Makes me cross that I can't be 100% cross for the framing of my posts as "weaponising", not to mention previous high crimes and misdemeanors.

Hmmm, wonder if I hold the following view plucked from one of the GC mob on Twix:

Or anything tweeted by this pérsón.
Or this guy gay.

Quote from: Victoria Smith
It is a boring waste of time to have to keep stating the bleeding obvious. Nonetheless, many of us have felt compelled to keep doing so because these nonsense arguments are being used to justify real harms, not just to female athletes, but to gender-confused children, lesbians, rape survivors. They’re being used to undermine the entire feminist analysis of male violence, human reproduction and power. Nevertheless, Progressive Man — that type exemplified by the likes of Oliver — is highly affronted that any of us should be making a fuss.

The good news is, I've taken a holy vow to steer clear of the Gender thread. The bad news is, woo still leaks out. Like urine from gender-affirming bottom surgery.

Quote from: AndyRM replying to winjim
I kind of agree with you here, having been vaguely entertained by a few of his posts. But then I remember his weirdo stalkery website and it all just feels a bit uncomfortable.

I'll accept "weirdo" as encomium, and clock the "vaguely" as true to form. As for "stalkery", must all close observers of human nature suffer such insult?

Quote from: winjim
I kind of agree with you, but also it's a sobering reminder that what we post online exists in perpetuity to be read by anyone.

[The following post is a screenhot from LFGSS's Velocio]
Banned that guy for spamming. It's very boring. He'd posted a lot, but I didn't read that... he'd also linked another forum and it made me realise he'd spammed the same topics here, there, and elsewhere... so banned for by far the most boring reason, he is a spammer... nothing even controversial in that.

Gee, I guess that makes Velocio a spammer for all the times he talked about the possible demise of his forum on multiple outlets.

That episode is covered here, and there's more about LFGSS there and elsewhere not far away. I can't really complain about all my content (an infinitesimal amount of which was on this topic) being deleted, so won't. Archive to the rescue, if you want a sample.

Even before the dust has settled, they will be working to keep their ideology on track, and I doubt that they will allow the Supreme Court to derail their goals. How will they circumvent this ruling? In case you missed it:

Supreme Court hearing case on definition of a woman
The case started on Tuesday, with judges hearing from lawyers acting on behalf of the For Women Scotland campaign group, which is concerned about the potential impact of trans rights on women's rights. The Scottish government's legal representatives will address the court on Wednesday, before the judges retire to consider their ruling - which could take several weeks. At the most basic level, the case centres on what “sex” actually means in law.

Didn't think so.

About this video: spoiler
Perfect on all levels except for the lyrics, which need a little work. I am clearly frustrated that my thread, tailor made for a post-Supreme Court ruling, was dropped in favour of one past its sell-by date. Trans-identifying people are frustrated that they aren't what they aren't, and with people who won't accept them for what they aren't. The guy crouched down with the necklace would be an enby today. 'Soft Cell' works with polysemous irony given the hard sell (mind the homonym, though note that you are your sex in every cell of your body) of gender ideology and the theme of advertisements for theyself.

Quote from: cont'd - remember me?
...but you may prefer 'House prices are insane', currently on p3, or one of the topics sliding down p4.

As quid pro quo I would then be pleased to entertain a favour in return. Bear in mind I run a wildly uninfluential blog disguised as a forum, and have nothing of value to offer.

On my site you'll see a board advertising "context collapse". The idea was to provide a place for people to talk about their respective forums. It is open to guest posting, i.e., registration is unnecessary and will remain so unless I run into difficulties with nefarious private agents and/or Ofcom, ranked unlikely and vanishingly unlikely.

To get to the point, consider this an invitation to contribute your thoughts. On whatever. I'm not sanguine, but one never knows.

In closing,

My vote goes for the Social media confessions thread - Ed.

My guess is he quickly thought things over and decided "Nah, I'm good."

Listen people, you have to help me out. Trying to bend people to my will is tiring. Take the initiative and publicly appreciate the innovative work we do here, such as occasionally putting the followup asterisk first, not being boring, and letting your brain bridge the gap between what may appear to the layman to be non sequiturs.

I don't necessarily blame the guy for not getting the sarcasm in this case (here's where it started), but he's outed himself as someone who remains clueless half a dozen years after swerving this topic.

I agree with a lot of what you say. What I disagree with is the attempts (often by both sides of the debate) to terrorise and silence people.

Good luck finding the terrorising/silencing statement on the other side of that.
I chose MaryCate because she's far more provocative than Rowling, who famously could paper her home with such threats; and yet her main thing is to simply "listen to trans people", i.e., repeat what they're saying. I say simply, but it's true she's guilty of adding a large helping of snark.

There are two possibilities, that @monkers is a gifted writer and is using a fictional character to illustrate her argument or her Niece is real.

Whichever you believe to be true, it doesn't invalidate the arguments that are put across.

Personally I would err on the side of caution and assume that N is real and thus try to take both @monkers and N's feelings into account in what is a highly charged discussion.

While I can agree that arguments should stand or fall on their own, we're talking about someone who literally personifies dishonesty in a way that only a male lesbian can, and cranks out endless DARVO.

Quote from: moNkers back on More than a woman. I mean What is a woman.
One trans woman was violently attacked in the middle of April in the UK. This happened on the doorstep of her home in daylight. Days later she died in hospital from her injuries. When the attack was reported the police did nothing and were not even sympathetic. From witness accounts three men were involved shouting transphobic abuse.

Her name was Lucy. She was married to a cis woman, Katy Lee, who is a lesbian. In a separate incident on the same day in a different place Kay was also attacked by a man with a stanley knife. Katy survived the attack.

The media are silent. However Katy Lee has posted on her LinkedIn account. A crowdfunder has been started.

There is some commentary that claims that Lucy was attacked within minutes of the Supreme Court ruling, although I have been unable to verify that as a fact.

"Within minutes."

As for the rest, let's file that under WTAF.* It would be all over the news if true. Perhaps your Google-fu is better than mine dear lurker, as I can find nothing on it, including at r/transgenderUK, which would probably have it super ultra pinned atop their also relentlessly delusional feed.

How about we just let all people use the public space. That way a man can accompany his wife, partner, girlfriend, daughter, and just wash his hands while she uses the loo. The presence of men will help deter wrongdoing. As a woman, I'm more than fine with that.

To continue the fiction:
Quote
I've seen wrongdoing in public toilets. Once in London I was mugged at knifepoint, by three young women. I gave them my purse, they assaulted me anyway for the hell of it. Apparently ''dykes are dirty''. Who knew?

Once in a gay pub in Portsmouth while in the cubicle I heard a violent attack in progress. I came out of the cubicle as quick as I could. A lesbian, known to me as being violent, was pounding her then girlfriend with her pinned against the door. There was blood everywhere, and no way out for me, since like all these spaces there is only one available exit. Apparently she'd looked at another woman.

On another occasion in a pub in Emsworth, I was out with my now partner and two male friends. I went to go to the loo on my own. There was a shared lobby that led to ''gendered'' doors. I went in, came out and there was a man calling himself Alan outside the door wanting to give me his phone number on a piece of paper. I declined, so he set about me. I gave him a bit of a kicking in return and he let me go. I returned to our table visibly shaking. One of the men we were with, then went to the loo, and then to the bar. So we asked ''did you find him?'' ''Yes he replied''. ''So what happened''. ''Nothing we didn't speak, but I've just dropped a lump of my poo in his beer, he'll find it soon enough''. When he found it and yelled his disgust, our friend stood up, stared at him with his arms folded across his chest and said nothing. The landlady was then informed, and the police called.

Almost forgot - moNkers demands retractions from Aurora. Again and again. Made me think of a parrot for some reason.

Big news: MOnKERS HAS HAD ENOUGH.

Is there any value left?

No.

The site is now just spammed and trolled by Poundshop actual fascists. Just endless mindless shite of utter mindless morons, occasionally interspersed by decent people who are posting less and less.

I'm not engaging further.

The tearful emoji is currently gathering signatures. More as this story develops.

I'd have more sympathy for you lads moaning if the OP and a significant other hadn't spent the last couple of years calling me (and a few others) a c.unt and trolling the forum with personal abuse.

I don't recall a single one of you even suggesting the pair of them take it down a notch, so it seems a bit hypocritical to be complaining about disruptive behaviour now.

Shush, the lads are setting the forum to rights.

You have been a lying c.nut for as long as I remember. You are not just a troll but a determined liar. Last words.

Anyway enough already.

I've enjoyed the company of a few people here. I'll miss some more than others. Anyway, I'm now apparently into my final days and breaths.

Far from being sad about it, I feel relieved, such is the state of the country and the world.

So it's bye from me. I'll watch this space for a day or two if I anyone fancies saying goodbye here or better still by pm.

Toodlepip.

Final final words? Finally? "Toodlepip" doesn't convey the necessary gravitas for such an occasion.

Monkers is terminally ill and may be approaching the end.

[Gotta love the thumbs up by C R]

How anybody can take moNkers seriously about anything, including and especially this, I know not, but I have prepared the following in case I'm wrong:

Think hard before you kill yourself off, moNkers. Do you really want to be stuck in N mode forever?

I've quit NACA many a time. This may be the only thing we have in common. Aside from both being blokes, that is.
