Welcome to the launch of a new thread. Not this one, which isn't going anywhere; the one across the road. Which might not go anywhere either, but at least it has a fighting chance.

Full disclosure: I tried this elsewhere, but it was quickly locked, the mod's usual impeccable logic being

and they'd met their quota on the topic, thank you very much. This on an ostensibly unmoderated board, of which there actually is only one.

I'm not bitter.

The best thing to do when confronted with those determined to build a wall of silence, with you inside, is to carry on regardless.

Making the Possible Impossible

I was about to post the following reply when the thread was locked (and I was smeared, so thanks for that).

Are you suspicious about everybody who wants to debate contentious subjects?

I'm very happy to take it as it comes.

But your approach had led several others to question your motivations, so I thought it would help to ask the question directly.

The news that you're pursuing the topic across multiple fora would perhaps have been better coming from you than others, in the interest of the honest debate we all want.

Your oblique style makes parsing your posts really very difficult at times - I am non the wiser what you actually propose.

It seems to be less rights for trans women as far as I can ascertain, in ways which are unclear, but I'm really not sure, I fear I may have missed your point entirely.

Apologies if I have misconstrued.

I propose we take women's rights and fears seriously. I don't think I'm very oblique about my view that transwomen's rights have been taking precedence.

It doesn't seem to me to be relevant to the debate here that I tried this topic first over at another forum. It was, as mentioned, locked - almost immediately - with no replies, because they're apparently satisfied with a single thread on the topic. So I went to the next forum down the line.

I post about this quite a lot on my site, which is not a forum. Someone kindly linked to one of my threads (you chose a good one, thanks).

As for the complaint about making one very large post rather than perhaps dozens of small ones, I simply don't have time to be doing things any other way, for the most part. I also happen to feel it beats threads growing like topsy, which people can find discouraging to wade through. YMMV.

. . .

So that was a waste.

How I fell so deeply into social media I'll never know. (Well, I do know, but never mind.) Needed some cheering up.

People on cycling forums *really* don't like it when you crosspost, by which I don't just mean reproducing the exact same post (which I don't tend to do anyway), but cross-pollinating discussion. This attitude is amazingly parochial; sometimes I wonder if they've heard of the world wide web.

Speaking of crossposting, if you click here you can't say SMIDSY.

Little known fact: Where's Wally? (known as Where's Waldo? in the US) got the idea from Where's Werner?

That Mumsnet link up top has a link back home. (Dear witless wonder: that's circularity). See if you can spot the seasonal Easter egg.

I grew up well-versed with the concept that laughter is the best medicine. Funny as some of the stuff being said about me is (cue the usual), it's a sad reminder of our slide into idiocracy.

Damnit, link overload again.

It's always red nose day at NACF

This is the problem when you see uncountable connections.

Either get tabbing or choose an escape hatch. NOT THE X.
