Readit & Weep:

--- Quote from: Richard Feynman & Bob Dylan ---It doesn't matter how beautiful your theory is, it doesn't matter how smart you are. When something's not right, it's wrong.
--- End quote ---

Reginald Weep here again. Material has been vouchsafed to me which persuasively identifies moNkers in the non-forum, i.e. 'real' world. Whilst it is largely in the public domain, it was gathered by a source who does not wish to dox. As an officer of the court, nor do I. However, I can confirm that the subject is in the male sex category; hence very much not a lesbian as claimed.

In other news, Pale Rider has texted me from Malaga airport [two links]. Coming or going I know not, though Oklahoma! was mentioned. He just wanted to tell me to keep up the good work.

Éminence grise:
I wouldn't call it a renaissance, but CycleChat's cast-off forum does seem to be waking up.

A little.

I credit Mein Tool for doing the decent thing and fucking off. Unfortunately the equally malign moNkers remains in residence.

Spen666, in the running for bête noire, has certainly perked up. He's on the pedant end of the spectrum. Has his uses.

The gender thread, last bumped by parkrun [glow]expert[/glow] (alas I don't have the code for that turned on) AndyRM, has drifted down into the second page.

Cookiemonster posted this the other day:

--- Quote from: They Walk Among Us ---
Too much paranoia and stupidity.
--- End quote ---

Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Sorry for getting biblical on your ass. Of course I'm going to judge. Cookiemonster, thou art part of the problem, and haven't learned a blessed thing since Brexit.

Israel / Palestine

--- Quote from: C R ---
--- Quote from: winjim ---I'm glad I'm not American right now. I don't think I could bring myself to vote for either main candidate. How could I bring myself to vote for someone who's doing... that?

Don't blame the electorate for being stupid, blame the candidates for not being better.
--- End quote ---

PZ Myers discusses this dilemma in his blog
https://freethoughtblogs.com/pharyngula/2024/10/24/my-political-dilemma/
--- End quote ---

A bit of advice for anyone who rates the intellect of Pee Zed Myers:

Don't be.

Mike Brady:
Oh no!! Brexit not going quite as well as hoped

--- Quote from: lazybloke ---Funny, i remember some gammons saying...
--- End quote ---

You had me at gammons. Let's see if I can rustle up a button for you, too.

Riot!

--- Quote from: AndyRM ---It must be lonely up in your ivory tower. I can't imagine watching us idiots grubbing around on this forum provides a distraction for more than a few minutes.

Don't sell yourselves short. It's like an ant farm.

--- Quote from: matticus ---Would you say you find much of this forum... confusing?

Boom! Rachael Reeves....

--- Quote from: fozy tornip ---Jeez; this new intake is a bit of a disappointment.

Welcome to my world.

Psamathe is not my idea of a good time, but nothing objectionable so far. We'll see.

Alternative Bombings

--- Quote from: moNkers ---You've no idea how much this enthused my partner sitting here, there being a loud whooosh as something about the 8080 having 22 card slots or something or other was going over my head. She's smart but I still have to maintain her bike.
--- End quote ---

Mostly because I have trouble believing anything he says unless it's independently verified.

*Since posting, a larger sampling of lazybloke's oeuvre compels me to want to delete this entry. Unfortunately my hand is tied.

Pale Rider:

--- Quote from: ad campaign ---Kamala is for they/them.
Trump is for you.
--- End quote ---

Admit it: that tagline was a work of genius.

USA Midterms...
They couldn't have started a new thread for the election?

--- Quote from: winjim ---Let's not pretend that the USA is this shining beacon of democracy somehow tainted by one man. It's a ruthless Imperial power which we have allowed to become too strong and influential because it suited us well in the latter half of the 20th century. The current state of affairs should come as a surprise to nobody.
--- End quote ---

Nothing left to do but dance the night away.

"Even my teen kids were like -um, no"

--- End quote ---

That never gets old.

--- Quote from: AndyRM ---Trump is a freak.
--- End quote ---

Well, we live in freaky times, where women can have penises.

4B, or not 4B, that is the question

--- Quote from: moNkers ---
--- Quote from: The Guardian ---https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/nov/07/4b-movement-trump-women
‘No man will touch me until I have my rights back’: why is the 4B movement going viral after Trump’s win?
--- End quote ---

How many men are going to start calling for a rerun of the election? If 4B are embraced by women, how long is it going to take?
--- End quote ---

It's doubtful this movement has legs.

The twerking video I linked to above (heaven forbid you miss it) was the Harris campaign trying a little too hard to attract men.

From the history rhymes department:

--- Quote from: moNkers ---Aren't women right to be concerned about their reproductive rights as women, especially with Trump in the Whitehouse? Trump voters have effectively decided that women should not have the rights pertaining to their own bodies, and some of those voters are in fact women.
--- End quote ---

~Your friendly reminder that moNkers is a heterosexual man cosplaying being a lesbian. Any concern he shows for women's rights is cover for his preoccupation with men's rights.~

As regards the women-who-don't-have-penises vote:

--- Quote from: MalagaNights @ Mumsnet ---The republicans provided a bigger tent for women: more varied viewpoints on abortion and trans can be expressed and tolerated

But the Dems viewed women as a monolithic vote on unrestricted abortion and TWAW. Any dissent is fascism.
--- End quote ---

Meanwhile, back at the mothership:
He’s back! Trump is back!! What the…

--- Quote from: fritz katzenjammer ---What is wrong with Americans, could someone please explain this to me because I’m at a loss.
