"That's a good bell," said William after I called out "Hello!" to warn them of my approach.

The dogs are used to looks of amusement when their masters tell strangers their names.

A few days later and miles away I passed none other than Liz, wearing a tabard used by equestrians.

How to brighten up a gloomy Monday ride? I know – throw in a detour up and down a convenient nave. No fancy moving pictures, sorry.

First in quite a while.

I hadn't signed up, but Adrian didn't look too surprised to see me.

He told me Ditchling Beacon was off the menu. I kept my wailing and gnashing of teeth to myself.

The bike started making horrible noises early on. Turned out a water bottle was rubbing against the cage. Both went into a bus shelter bin. I had no sentimental attachment to the cage, a last minute addition as I normally chuck a bottle into my saddlebag.

The route has changed; there used to be a nice relatively traffic-free hill at (checks notes) (forgot to make notes). Somewhere in south London, or slightly beyond. Wherever it is, I miss you, hill.

I overdressed, overly concerned about those 4 a.m. chills. Ended up a sweaty mess. The end. Or is it just the beginning?

Why hello A21:

YESSSSSSS!

This has been going on since the 4th; I'm kicking myself for not noticing sooner.

How boring. I thought it might be a meth lab.

If you insist.

Poor little guy.

Stop watering down the beer!

Is the internet down or something?

I have a feeling that isn't going to end well...

From a visit to the Imperial War Museum last week.

Finished with that little diversion?

Home stretch for me, not quite for Ben. We had a nice chat. The subject of Enigma came up; he used to live next to Mr Enigma himself.

Yeah, let's go with that.
